Introduction to vegetarianism:
It is so much
easier to be a vegetarian now a days You have so many choices for
fake meat products. Some vegetarians despise them others embrace
them. I embrace them they make my meals easier to make. There are
many companies out there, Morningstar farms, Boca, Quorn, Lite
life, etc... all have a different taste. If you don't like one
type try another. Some taste good by themselves others have to be
cooked a certain way or paired with certain foods. Experiment a
little!
The recipes here
are ones I have come up with or modified from my ex wife's
recipes as I remember them and I have developed on my own. These
dishes are not set in stone. If you are a vegan then use vegan
substitutes for my ovo-lacto ingredients.
I am what is called
in the vegetarian community an ovo-lacto vegetarian. We are a
little frowned upon by vegans but we attempt to eat unfertilized
eggs and view dairy as an animal by-product that does not hurt
the animals. We do not eat chicken or fish. I have been told by
some ignorant people “ a fish isn't and animal.” A
fish and chicken are both animals they are from the kingdom
animalia just like cows. All animals are Meat. Here is a list of
the types of vegetarians.
Chicken fish vegetarian are not true
vegetarians because they still have to kill and eat the flesh of
an animal.
Ovo-lacto eat eggs (Ovo) and dairy
(lacto)Eat eggs because they are either worried about their health or believe and unfertilized
egg is just a sack of protein not living and eat diary because they don't have to harm an animal to get it.
Vegans eat only veggies.
Rawists eat only raw veggies.
Juicist are rare and liquefy all
their food.
Sometimes included in vegetarianism is
Macrobiotic diet this diet uses natural bacteria like yogurt as a basis
for their nutritional needs. Most of these people do this for
the great health benefits. A lot of them are body builders and
nutritionists
Most vegans, rawists, and juicists don't count any other type of vegetarian that doesn't eat strictly plants.
Myths:
vegetarians
are skinny and malnourished: No way Ovo-lacto vegetarians have
less a problem with this than the other groups it is
easy for them to get all the nutrients they need. Any vegetarian who are
skinny are that way by choice not because of being vegetarian,
even though you can lose weight by being a vegetarian.
vegetarians who are malnourished are that way because they don't
make sure they eat the right foods you can get all the
essential nutrients from plants you just have to eat the right
ones.
Vegetarians
after a month get sick if they eat meat. This is true. your body
no longer needs to break down meat proteins and looses that
ability A vegetarian can get severe abdominal pains and
diarrhea. As if having an allergic reaction with GI
complications.
If you still
eat chicken and seafood your a vegetarian. this is still
classified by some people as vegetarian, but the vegetarian
community does NOT recognize this because they still have to eat
dead animal flesh. For dieting and health reasons this is a good
idea but it is not recognized by any vegetarian.
vegetarians
aren't common. You may be surprised to know that vegetarians
make up 10% of the population and it is on the rise mostly for
the health benefits, but also a lot of young people are taking a
more earth friendly approach to life and becoming vegetarian.
If
you want to know more about vegetarians send me an email I will
be more than happy to discuss it. A warning to those of you who

report to law enforcement sorry I don't tolerate abrasive
behavior on here if you want to do that go someplace else this is

beliefs. With that said enjoy the recipes they are great. sorry about missing pics and recipes Im still working on them. I will one day add pics of my own stuff not the generic pics I have now. This is still a work in progress.
